About Me

Hi, I'm Teri!  I generally spend a lot more time behind the camera than I do in front of it, but I figure you should at least have some idea what I look like, so here's a picture :)  Don't be surprised if it's one of the only ones you ever see!

Here's a bit about me:

First, I'm a wife to a very tolerant husband who doesn't seem to care if more sewing than cleaning/cooking happens in our house!  Just a little secret here (probably not a secret to anyone who knows me!) - I'm about as far from a 1950s housewife that a person can get :)  I firmly believe that cooking is a four letter word!  I was thrilled when my oldest son informed me that he wanted to be a chef, because I figured I would get more good meals out of it.  After all, peanut butter & jelly wears thin after a while!  But unfortunately that phase didn't last, so my family is back to foraging for food in our pathetically stocked pantry and freezer :)

Second, I'm a mom to six kids, which keeps me slightly busy, as you might imagine :) I really do enjoy every minute of the chaos that comes along with having a large family, but at times the sheer number of people in the house can be overwhelming.  And those moments are when I escape (relatively speaking ... the kids seem to find me no matter what!) to do what I love to do the most - sewing!

In my spare time (what little I have!) I love to sew kids clothing ... especially for Mae, who at age 2, is the baby of the clan.  I have to confess that the primary reason I sew more for Mae than the other kids is because she really doesn't express much of an opinion yet :)  I sew other things as well, but kids clothes are by far my favorite!  I look forward to sharing a few of my creations on this blog ... oh, let's be honest here, I'm sure I'll share pretty much all of them :)

I have other hobbies and a life in the real world as well, but none of that is really relevant to this blog.  I'm also guessing it isn't that interesting to anyone other than me :)

If you would like to contact me for any reason (other than to share recipes or cleaning tips since I probably don't have any!) please email me at teri@climbingthewillow.com
